Duplicate timeline clips within a project

The challenge
Reusing the same clip more than once in a project already works today, but it's tedious: you have to go back to the asset pool (your cloud folders) and re-select the clip every time you want it again. When you're repeating a clip often, that back-and-forth quickly becomes frustrating and slows editing down.

Our approach
Let you duplicate a clip straight from the timeline instead of returning to the asset pool. Copy a clip that's already on the timeline and paste it again β€” both via keyboard shortcuts (CMD/CTRL+C and CMD/CTRL+V) and via right-click (right-click a clip to copy it, right-click an empty area of the timeline to paste). This stays within your current project/template; copying content between different projects is handled separately.

Expected impact

  • Reuse a clip in seconds without returning to the asset pool each time
  • Fewer, faster steps when repeating a clip within a video
  • Familiar copy/paste via keyboard shortcuts or right-click
