Support for static images in AI automations

The challenge

Not every project has video footage to work with. Some teams work largely with static photos — often a mix of portrait and landscape orientation and of varying quality — and can't guarantee always having video material. Today the AI automations are built around video input, so there's no reliable way to feed in static image files and let the automation take it from there.

Our approach

Let's add support for static image files (such as JPEG and PNG) as input in Mozaik's AI automations. Once images are accepted as first-class input, the automation can handle the rest — assessing each image and picking the ones best suited for the video — so teams working from photos get the same automated experience as those working from video.

Expected impact

  • Automations work even when only static photo material is available
  • Static images (JPEG, PNG, and similar) accepted as input alongside video
  • Mixed portrait and landscape material handled automatically
  • A faster path from upload to finished video, with no manual pre-sorting
